Quest 3 Left controller wont update

It was working fine and then stopped. It tried to do a firmware update and it will make it to 66% and then reset, does this 3 times and then fails. Tried all of the “fixes” I.e. unpair, factory reset, batteries, but it will not work. Any other solutions??

  • I’m having the same problem on the same controller but the update stops at 33% and I’ve been trying for months I tried factory resetting the controller and the headset and I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the controller and it doesn’t work and on the information about my controller it doesn’t show the firmware version and I have tried waiting for months and it still is not fixed

Same here. Controller stopped working, bought a new controller, went through all the steps to pair the new controller (which took an hour to figure out how to do correctly using the horizon app) and now the firmware won't update. it's an absolute joke

  • Chuck,

I worked for three days on when my left stopped working sevral times it would lock up on the firmware update,

but when I bought a new one and waited for them to replace the warranty one, (now I have a spare) make sure your old one is removed then when you get to the firmware update just plug your head set in and wait took all most 1-1 1/2 hours no idea why just do not stop the update, mine finally finished and no more proublem, as for the warranty one it showed up about a week after the new one (personal choice if you dont want to wait) make sure you have ever thing including box it came in if you want them to replace it. good luck

  • I have the exact same problem for 3S controllers. The update stops at 1% 3 times and then fails

  • Yes I ended up purchasing new controllers even though it was under warranty. They did not get back to me in a timely manner nor reimbursed me.
    I’m sorry I can’t help you more.

I am having the same problem I need help I have done everything possible and my left controller won’t work and now it won’t pair to my headset please meta help me out

  • For me, it's the left rechargeable battery, which belongs to the charging station. It has been losing a lot of power for a while. The batteries are only one year old. I've already contacted Meta and I'm curious to see what they have to say about it.
