    I fixed it!

    For anyone with this issue, what finally ended up working was a USB-C to USB-A adapter, and having the setting to immediately activate a Link session turned on via developer mode on the 3S itself. It now works flawlessly. Thank God for working at a computer shop where I can have easy access to these things for diagnosis.

    I was going to seek other avenues to repair if the adapter solution did not work. I presume that the VD solution Anonymous suggested would've also fixed it (possibly).

    Ultimately still very confused because it worked in my USB-C 10G port with basically no problems other than software stuff up until yesterday, and that port has had zero issues for the entire time I've had this motherboard. I'm going to keep fiddling around with the connections, but for now, this is working. I will update if anything changes.

  1. Test different USB ports, including USB-A with an adapter.
  2. Update your motherboard’s USB drivers from the AORUS website.
  3. Disable USB power management in Device Manager.
  4. Test another high-speed USB-C cable to rule out hardware issues.
  5. Enable USB Debugging in Developer Mode on the Quest.

If it still doesn’t work, contact Meta Support for further help."

    All of my drivers are up to date and I did actually go through and turn off USB power management in Device Manager on every USB device on day 1 when I first had issues, which didn't really help. Unfortunately I don't have a spare high speed USB-C cable, as I was hoping the official Meta one would just do the trick and be reliable given the price. I also have all developer mode options turned on and nothing has helped. I've tried just about every tip on these forums and online. Still not recognizing the cable.

    I will have to give the adapter a try. If that doesn't work, I'll be returning the cable and trying a new one.
