Quest air link

Hello, I have attempted to use the air link for my original quest headset that I have had for about 6 years but hardly use. It has worked fine with cable to my pc but I the chord broke and want to play while I am waiting for a new one. Everytime I go in my headset to connect it to air link, it shows my computer (which is more than capable to run VR) however it loads for a minute then says check your network connection on your computer and headset. They both have good wifi and are connected to the same one. I am unsure what to do or if my headset is just out of date for air link.

  • If your PC, headset and mobile phone are on a 2.4Ghz wifi (too slow), try connecting them to the 5GHz band instead.

    Hi there unioo!

We heard you were having some issues with Air Link on your Quest headset, and thought we'd stop by to see if we could lend a hand.

We actually have a fantastic guide with lots of tips for troubleshooting issues with Air Link and Quest Link, including some network problems!

We'd recommend running the troubleshooter on your headset. This will take a look at your network connection and flag up any issues. You can do this by:

    1. With your headset on, press the Meta button on your right Touch controller to access the universal menu.
    2. Hover over the clock on the left-hand side of the universal menu. When Quick settings appears, select it.
    3. Select Link.
    4. If your computer isn't listed, toggle Air Link off and then on.
    5. Select your computer, then Troubleshoot.
    6. Review the metric chart for potential connection issues.

It's pretty straightforward! The guide linked above also has some other tips for optimizing your connection, including using the 5 GHz band on your Wi-Fi, as that supports faster channels with less interference.

    We hope this helps!
