Quest doesn't download anything

I received an original Quest from a friend. Setup and installation were without any issues and worked fine. Then all of a sudden I wasn't able to install / download anything. I tried a few things and finally did a full factory reset but the problem persist.

Whether I try to start a download from the library or the store doesn't change anything. It briefly starts the download but after a few moments immediately goes back to the option do download the app. I can "buy" new (free or test) apps from the store without any problem, but as soon as I want to download them, I get stuck. Almost all 64 GBs are available. I noticed the problem first last weekend and it is the same on different WiFi networks and - as stated before - even after a full reset. Any ideas / tips, what can be done to resolve this? Due to the factory reset, I can't even use the apps I have  paid for / downloaded before...

    Hi, I have exactly the same problem.

    It was working last saturday, and all of a sudden yesterday I got stuck.

    Not sure if the 2 open updates are the problems.

    Reset, restart, different WiFi ... nothing worked, contacted the support... waiting for response

    Did you find a solution already? 

    Contacted support 4 times ... let's better forget that experience, beside restart, reset, ... no real idea.

    What I found is that my Quest is linked to the profile, but is not seen in the equipment list in my account.

    Also exit and login in my app always wants to install a new equipment, as if there is none attached to the account.

    Looking into this problem next

      Unfortunately not. Did another factory reset today just to try again but the problem still persists. Maybe I'll try setting it up with a different account if the problem is associated with the account somehow.

      I've been chatting with forum support here for a while now doing trouble shooting without any real results. They've now forwarded the issue to the technical team who should get back to me via email. I'll keep you posted.

    one workaround i found is adding a second account to the device and then enable app sharing in the admin/first account - and then within that second account, i can surprisingly download/install again.

    but that is unsatisfying and not a solution/workaround, because i own 3 quest1 and it's  only  allowed to enable app sharing within one device.

    quest/meta is getting more and more horrible broken over the years and so closely tied to the cloud, i can hardly recommend to anyone to buy a quest/meta product.   i have spent so many hours with setup and troubleshooting, it's a waste of time and really sucks.

    Thanks for the tip, I just wanted to test it before buying a new one. I got the Quest1 from a friend.

    Apparently Meta is doing a terrible job here. Investing so much money just to buy yourself problems is something you should really think about carefully. It's not recommended at all

      Yes, this actually worked. I created a second account, activated app sharing and am now able to install the apps with the new account on the same Quest.

    The Quest always wants to register (which does not work) with the 8-digit code

    Tried to disconnect from app and login with second account ... Ups, something went wrong

    Maybe I give it another try next year after holidays or maybe ...

    Garbage > can > forget Meta VR

     After doing this workaround......is installing on the first account now possible too? Have you tried that?

      Unfortunately not. Even the apps I have installed on the second account can’t be opened in the original account. 

      Another problem: I can’t access my purchased tracks in epic rollercoasters. Is this normal behaviour that in app purchases aren’t available through app sharing between accounts?

        Yes, unfortunately, only the main game can be shared......it's a big disadvantage of app sharing.🙁

        To my opinion, app sharing is absolutely useless for games with DLCs.

    Can confirm this is happening with my meta quest 1 as well. I've tried reaching out to support but their support page refuses to take my quest 1's serial number.
    Frankly, I fail to see how that isn't deliberate.
    If someone from Meta support sees this and wants to reach out I'd really appreciate it.
