Quest Link desktop "blocked"

I have a Quest 3. My son has a computer. He wants to use Link to play PC games. Attempting to login to the desktop Link app with his account results in an error saying something like no permission or unauthorized or something.

When I login with my account on Link it lets me do so, but then attempting to link via his account on the Quest 3 headset results in a message stating "blocked" or similar and prompts that the parent can update his account to enable Link access. There is no such menu option in Family center to enable linking.

Additionally, when not connected to his PC, while logged in through his Meta account, going to settings > Link and attempting to enable results in the same message; something about it being blocked

Where can I enable my son's meta account to connect via Link. Currently he cannot connect to his PC with the Quest 3, unless he uses my meta account on both the headset and the desktop software.

I see no option in the family center to enable Link

  • Same issue here... I can't even see an option to enable link on my 11-year-old son's supervision settings. Very frustrating.

      Hi ElectricFox01,

Thanks for posting into our forum. We noticed you're having some problems using the Link app as it says it's blocked, and we'd like to try and help out! So if this is in regards to a parent managed account for a user between the age of 10-12 (or 10-13 in Spain, South Korea or Quebec), this account will be unable to access Link features as this has been intentionally cut off until users are 13 (or 14 years old in South Korea, Spain, or Quebec) in order to keep our younger users safe from any harmful content.

If the account in question falls into the approved age group of your region and is still being supervised by a parent account, the issue may be that the access hasn't been granted yet for the user to start using their account on the Link app. In order to change this, you'll be able to access the parental settings on the supervising account and you'll see a setting to approve access for the Quest Link.

Hopefully this information helps you out and if approving access to the Link app still results in the account being blocked from access, please let us know and we'll be more than happy to investigate further!

Acknowledging I misread the response. Can't seem to remove my comment, so replacing it with this. Still find the concept that they're intentionally "protecting" our child from accessing our own home PC that they can already access to be weird as heck, but intentionally blocked is intentionally blocked.
