Quest Pro does not connect automatically to Link

After PC power on, or PC wake up from sleep (also turning on the Meta Quest Link win11 app, if not already running), I put the headset on my head, and the main screen appears. In Quick Settings, I can see that Quest Pro doesn't automatically connect to Link via cable (it says a message "Disconnected"). This used to work few months ago (2 patches ago actually). To connect it back, I have to unplug and plug the cable back into the headset. This seems to become a new bug, or rather some software glitch, headset not connecting to pc directly.

  • THIS IS NOT THE SOLUTION:

I think I found the "problem", with new updates there has been some changes, and there is no an Auto-Connect option (tick to add) in the Settings.

What this does, is only taking you to Link screen, which is something I don't want to do it automatically. But what the win11 app and headset it self should do, is to automatically recognize the waken up Quest pro device if conncted with a usb cable (which always is).

      Hi Rebecca,

We understand you are encountering issues when trying to connect your headset to Meta Quest Link. Firstly, please make sure you have followed the steps below:

      1. Plug your USB 3 cable into a USB 3.0 port on your PC, then plug the other end into your headset.
      2. Press Meta button/ Oculus button on your controller to open the universal menu.
      3. Select the clock on the left-hand side of the universal menu to open Quick settings.
      4. Select Link, then select the computer that your headset is plugged into.
      5. Select Launch.

If this does not work, here a some steps to resolve this:

      1. Restart your headset and computer.
      2. Update your Meta Quest software and drivers.
      3. Disable any firewall or antivirus software that may interfere with your Link connection.
      4. Uninstall and reinstall the Meta Quest Link app on your computer.
      5. Log out of the Meta Quest Link app and log back in.
      6. Make sure that Air Link is turned off.

In that Quick Settings there is a Link, and it says "Not connected". If I click on it, another smaller window appears and it says "Searching for PCs...".

The headset IS connected with my PC, and it cannot connect automatically.

It does, only when I disconnect and reconnect the USB cable (from headset or PC). Then it reconnects insrtantly. But this is not how it was 2 and more updates in the past. It used to connect automatically. Now it just doesn't.

  • The upper post of mine is not a sulution!!

What this does, is only taking you to Link screen, which is something I don't want to do it automatically. But what the win11 app and headset it self should do, is to automatically recognize the waken up Quest pro device if conncted with a usb cable (which always is).

  • This glitch or auto reconnection to the the Link via cable connected to PC is still there.
The Quest Pro doesn't automatically connect via Link after PC wake up from sleep.
But I found I don't need to disconnect and connect back in the cable on a headset):
It helps to turn on the Wi-Fi Air Link (moving the slider to the right "Use Air Link (Wi-Fi)"), and turn it off again. Then the connection via cable establishes.

But the point is, the connection via cable doesn't establish automatically after PC wakes up from sleep.
