Hello everyone,I would like to ask if anyone has been encountering issues after the last April update, around 24th April to be exact. I mainly use the headset with wired link to play VR sim racing. Before this update, I had absolutely no issue, shortly after the install, the VR connection is lost after about 15-30, after an intense session.Is there any fix for this? I saw that there is no way to roll back the driver... which is quite a shame. I was so excited after I bought it and set it up, only to have it crash now every half an hour.

i updated my software on the headset automatically and to this day today i have not experienced a single issue with my link cable. i play VR Sim racing using automobilista 2 on steam VR.. im not sure why others are having issues but it is widespread.. my rig setup is as follows: MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon MOBO, 64 Gig HyperXRam, Radeon 7900 XTX 24gig, Windows 11 pro, 4TB Samsung nvme, and my link cable, a cheap £20 cable that has a power supply point in the cable and they provided a charger with usb C cable, there is no magic sequence i follow, i just switch pc on and wait for everything to preload then launch metaquest app and load game from steam interface and select Steam VR and away i go, i play for hours with zero interuption. i hope they fix it for those who have an issue, i count myself very lucky im not having this issue and feel for those who do..

Same. I could almost set a clock to the disconnect. But it even hangs my entire PC giving NVIDIA RTX 4090 issues.Ever since v76 on Windows 11 the Meta Quest Link app has trouble starting at windows boot. The Meta launcher fails. Manual restarting the oculus VR service solves the issue. I can start Quest Link after that and connect.Yet since a few days it crashes during game plan

I have between 2.4 and 2.6 Mbps USB speed and it works well? Which simulation are you on? I'm using Iracing.I understand your frustration; I was in the same situation as you for the first few days.Reset the Oculus debug tools settings to their original settings. In the Quest Like settings, return to the recommended settings at 72Hz to run some tests to see if the simulation no longer crashes.Repair the Quest Link program in Windows Settings/Applications/Edit.Restart your PC.And then try a USB-A 3.2 gen1 port, 5Mbps max. 😉See your motherboard manual to locate them.

I have also had issues since the last update. I only had my quest 3 and official meta link cable about two weeks before it updated automatically. It had been working flawlessly before the update, but afterwards, I haven't been able to launch into PCVR after enabling the link cable. It just shows a black screen with the meta symbol and 3 dots flashing. I can get airlink to launch after a few tries but when it does, it's very unstable and unusable. I've tried all of the recommended fixes except for a factory reset of the headset. I thought by paying the extra money for the official cable would save me some headache, so much for that.

Many settings may influence performance, but in this case it is clear that the latest meta software is faulty and cannot be fixed with windows settings..... Unless meta advises to do so as a proven solution. So far customer support is gathering logs files. Hopefully the developers understand what is in there because support is only suggesting the standard stuff like resets which is not addressing the issue.

I have this problem too. I fly DCS World mainly. It has appeared in the latest updates. Also handtracking is lost in my headset alltogether. I will factory reset and try, but it seems to be V76 / V77 that is the issue. Never had this issue since I bought the headset at launch.

  YEP. I did a factory reset of the headset and the problem got EVEN worse. Now I get crashes when not even using an external VR game. It crashed right when I connected Pc via link cable. I saw the diamond pattern when looking to the sides too.

Don't bother Harry....i tested again and after about 12 minutes of flying the entire system froze.
So ...315 + v76.0 in the headset doesn't work either

Mine doesn't even connect both of link after v76 update stuck on 3 dots forever after billions test changing pc "both pc are new" router cable everything I'm still stuck there, the cause is the meta link app for pc after playing months with 0 issue, with v76 now i have just issues

I found something in another topic, this might be a possible workaround.
Temporary solution for Quest Link wired V76 issues... - Meta Community Forums - 1317415
I used an adapter to convert the original quest cable to a type A port. On the USB test C type is showing 3.1 with the adapter its 2.9, both is USB 3. I played 30 minutes, and I haven't experienced the issue.
One thing to mention, its charging the headset slower, so it's not ideal. Also only tested for 30 minutes, but feels like that's a progress from the maximum 20 minutes. I won't be able to test tomorrow, but thought someone might want to give a try.

You know what a smart dev in companies do when they do a mistake to roll back to previous version, also even if u the copy pasta search milions of forum the app wont work anyway, i also notice on the oculus tools doesnt work any tool appearing error, i did milions test even formatting all nothing happen even switching pc same, the vers v74 never had problems, if they dont fix in couple month i do refound because they not providing assistance and ignoring everyone

Those who just want to play PCVR (offline) games can avoid any USB disconnection by blocking Meta Quest Link app's internet connection with a firewall rule. (outbound)
By doing so you never get disconnected. In fact, inside AppData\Roaming\OculusClient are log (error) files saying that the disconnection happens from the server.

Obviously is just a temporary measure until this issue gets fixed. But at least it's still possible to play PCVR on latest update without the USB disconnecting. (tested it for more than 2 hours without USB disconnections).

    No harm trying. Does the cable at least complete correctly the test?
    
    All I can say is that recently I did (as we all) the latest update and after that I experimented for the first time those disconnections every 20-30 minutes. But that may have been a concurrence of events in my case. (By "disconnection" I mean that the desktop link was suddenly closing with no alert of any sort and the quest 3 instantly returning to the lobby. Thinking of it now it's very likely an USB problem.)
    So I had this new undesired behavior, plus a general difficulty to open the link (cabled) connection. (infinite loading, Meta's logo screen) which also could be very well related to the USB malfunction and / or difficulty to connect to the internet or both.
    Today, by casually plugging an USB hub with a led in that port, I found that the led light of the hub was unusually dim. I can't say if it's something that I simply never noticed or the port is dying. Also the hub isn't working when plugged in that port. The port is not "dead". It's as if it's under powered. So I swapped the keyboard and link cable... I plugged the keyboard in that under powered port and it works.
    And the link cable is now plugged in port that provides the right amount of power. Also: Lately the quest 3 was actually giving me alerts about it charging abnormally slow. (which I ignored because I thought it was related to the cable since it has always been slow at charging).
    All I can say now is that it is very likely that the Meta Quest Link app wasn't related to my disconnections. Still, by disabling internet I surely find the connection to the desktop (via link cable) more reactive and it "never fails" in this offline mode. Whereas when I'm online sometimes it gets stuck at the loading screen. But, as I said, It could be related to that faulty USB port and / or my internet connection behaving poorly.

I just received an updated in the PTC channel. The version number did not change and is still 77.0.0.574.329. The postive news is that i could play voor 25 minutes without a crash.
Have not rebooted yet...
