Remote Desktop authentication error?

When clicking "Remote Desktop" in Quest 3 settings it says the app needs to be installed and takes me to the Meta Store.

When I try to install Remote Desktop from the store it gives an authentication error?

This is weird because I can download other apps just fine from the Meta Store?

For the remote desktop you need to have the Meta Quest Link app (aka OculusSetup app) installed on your PC and then connected to your headset. You download it from the Meta Quest website, not from the Quest Store. The remote desktop app in the Quest itself is part of the operating system and does not need separate installation. Alternatively, the app "Virtual Desktop" is much better but costs a few dollars. It's mainly intended for a wireless connection though. SteamLink also has a built-in remote desktop similar to the QuestLink one. It requires you to have Steam and SteamVR installed on your PC and only connects to your headset wirelessly.

    Hi there,

Thanks for posting into our forum. We see you're having issues installing the Remote Desktop app on your Quest 3, and we'd like to try and help you out! So as steve_40 has said, you may need to download and install the Remote Desktop PC component first. You can download this PC component of the app by clicking here.
