Steam link not working

So I keep trying to air link my head set to my steam vr app on my computer with the steam link app on my headset but when I get them to connect I hit continue then goes to a screen that says I am in the wrong session as my computer. I have checked that all my drivers are updated and pretty much anything I could think of but it still doesn’t work. Can someone please help me find out why I can’t get them to connect?

  • That makes no sense. Please post a screenshot of the error or describe it accurately.

      So I don’t know how to put a picture into here so here is a description. When the screen comes up on my headset it says “In different session then Steam” then I close Steam VR and at the bottom of my computer it says “Drivers may need to be Updated” so I looked at my driver updates but it was all up to date. I restarted my headset and computer then tried again but the same thing happened. I even tried linking them with a cable but again the same thing happened. I checked for updates on my headset and computer but it was all updated.

        Sounds like you may be confusing between Horizon Link and Steam Link.

        Ok, I think this means you are trying to run Steam or SteamVR twice and it is already running.

        Which app is saying "Drivers may need to be Updated"? If SteamVR is saying that, then you need to click the hamburger menu (|||) in that App, select Devices>Update Device. If it is the HorizonLink app, it should give a pop-up asking you to update, but if not, you have to select Library, then click the Updates tab, then you should see an update at the top of the list, and you can apply it from there.
