The Meta Quest Link window for adding a new device cannot be resized to fit my display resolution

In the Meta Quest Link app on my PC (Windows 11), when trying to add a new device, the window that shows all the Meta headsets to choose from is much larger than the display size of my monitor (1980x1020), so the "previous" and "next" buttons cannot be accessed. This is a problem with the Meta Quest Link software not scaling its windows properly. The Meta Quest Link window cannot be resized (the little square in the top right corner for resizing the window is greyed out), and my PC monitor is already set at its maximum supported resolution. Lowering the display resolution only makes the problem worse. While I can scale my Windows display to make everything larger, it is not possible to downscale the windows below 100%, so I have no way to make the Meta Quest Link window fit on my screen. So basically, I am stuck and can't navigate forwards or backwards from this screen.

steve_40  try rotating the screen 90 degrees in windows. it will give you more horizontal real estate and access to the buttons.

To rotate the screen on a Windows computer, you can use keyboard shortcuts or the display settings in Windows. For keyboard shortcuts, press Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow to return to the standard landscape view, or use Ctrl + Alt + Left/Right Arrows to rotate 90 degrees left or right, and Ctrl + Alt + Down Arrow to flip the screen upside down. Alternatively, you can rotate the screen through the display settings by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting "Display settings", and then choosing the desired orientation from the "Display orientation" dropdown.

The CTRL+ALT key combos don't work for me, they are not standard Windows shortcuts, it's a feature of Intel Graphics app.

steve_40 you can also change the 'display orientation' from landscape to portrait mode in the display settings which also rotates the screen 90 degrees giving you more vertical real estate if you're laid on your side.

  • Hi steve_40 🙂

If I need access to the buttons I put my taskbar at the right side of the screen.

The buttons at bottom of the page are visible as a small line then and can be clicked.

What I did was hit the TAB key a few times then hit ENTER, and by sheer luck, I had moved the highlight to the correct button to advance.

Alternatively, I had to change the Windows 11 display orientation from Landscape to Portrait. It was rather awkward to navigate with my display and mouse turned sideways, but one of the buttons was now partly visible on the right side of the screen, so I was able to click on it.

None of these are acceptable solutions though. It is EMBARRASING on Meta's part that such problems exist in their software. This problem has still not been fixed since years ago when I owned a Rift S!!!

I have the same issue on the meta horizon app on android, also the same issue as you stated above.

What a ridiculous oversight from a company that spent how many billions of dollars on meta quest VR tech and they trip up on the most rudimentary software issue... window scaling... what is it 1997? It's embarrassing and completely unacceptable from such a reputable software company. They didn't test the app on windows at various resolutions or on Samsung mobile phones before rolling it out to 10's of millions of people. I can't scratch my head enough.

I fixed this issue on my PC connect to a 4k TV by temporarily reducing windows scaling from 300% to 200%, but there was no workaround on my Samsung Galaxy phone running android. When editing a Quest 3 avatar for example, I was unable to press the "accept" button on search filters page as the button was outside the accessible screen area do to scaling issues.
