Trying to disconnect a headset from my app

How does one delete a headset on the meta-quest app

  • In order to remove your headset from the Meta Horizon app, you go into Headset settings and factory reset your headset.

     

    This will wipe your data, though!

    As our very helpful Expert consultant Anonymous and our rising star StormyCarrot778 have pointed out, you can remove the headsets from your app by completing a factory reset. Just to make this process a little more efficient we have provided instructions below on how to factory reset your headset:

     

    If you are still in possession of your headset and wish to factory reset the headset, on the headset itself, please follow these steps:

    1. Turn off your headset.
    2. Hold the power and volume (-) buttons on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen has loaded on your headset.
    3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
    4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

    Alternatively, you can complete a factory reset remotely on your app by following these steps:

    1. On your phone, open the Meta Horizon app.
    2. Tap Menu at the top of your Horizon Feed.
    3. Tap Devices, then select the headset that you want to factory reset.
    4. Tap Headset settings, then tap Factory reset.
    5. Tap Reset.

    Once you have completed a factory reset on your device using either of these methods, the device will be removed from your app. Please note however you cannot remove the device from your account completely, only from the app.
