When connecting to Windows 11 with Meta Quest 3S, Windows freezes.
When attempting to connect to Windows 11 via Meta Link using the Quest 3, Windows froze and stopped responding. Only a forced reboot helped, and this happened both with a wired connection and via Wi-Fi (Air Link).
I previously tried reinstalling Meta Horizon Link, but that didn't help. I then completely uninstalled the program using Revo Uninstaller and cleaned the registry, but that also didn't help. After that, I installed a clean version of Windows 11 on a separate drive to test Meta Horizon Link, and everything worked fine there. However, after a clean install of the main version of Windows, the problem persisted, although everything continued to work fine on the separate Windows drive. After another unsuccessful attempt, I thought the issue might be related to a conflict with the Windows version, specifically Windows 11 25h2. I tried a clean reinstall on Windows 11 24h2, but the error persisted there as well. Considering everything works on the separate Windows drive, it seems the issue is not hardware-related, but a software bug. It's also worth noting that while other programs, such as Steam Link and ALVR, work fine, this issue only occurs with Meta Horizon Link. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to fix the issue, I gave up. As a last resort, I would simply boot into a test version of Windows and run it there.
However, constantly booting into a separate OS is slow and inconvenient, so I tried to fix the problem again. This time, I tried reinstalling Meta Horizon Link on the main C: drive, since it was previously stored on a different drive. This didn't help, and then I read on one of the forums that the problem could be due to a conflict with NVIDIA drivers. I installed an older version of NVIDIA 581.80, while I previously had NVIDIA 582.28, and this also didn't solve the problem.
