Beta settings section gone from Link?

It seems that in 83.0.0.330.349 for some users the Beta section under Settings in the Link application has disappeared.

When trying to set up a machine for a new developer, we no longer have the ability to enable passthrough and spatial data over Link. It seems that the absence of these options causes the Unity editor to crash for them when they try to run the application in editor mode.

They do have a valid developer account, and are able to build and deploy to the Quest 3 just fine. A search for the relevant registry keys reveals nothing for them, where they do exist on machines that had the settings enable previously.

Some of our existing developers also report that the section has disappeared for there, where other on the exact same version report that it is still there for them.

  • I have the exact same problem, no option to enable spatial data over link. For me loading the scene data in unreal will fail with code 3 ... the rest just works fine, means that VR Preview over Link works in general. Iam using the UE 5.6.1 Meta Fork version along with the Meta XR plugin. But i quess this is a problem with permissions.

I also have a valid developer account, also Development mode is enabled on the Quest 3. I also tried to reinstall Meta Horizon Link, but the uninstall clearly does not remove everything. No solution so far. Also had a look on the registry keys, found some with spatial data on old Oculus entries but none on the new Meta Horizon Link.

I have hit exactly the same issue. Working in latest version of Unity.

Exception: "When running in Editor over Meta Quest Link, please enable 'Settings > Beta > Spatial Data over Meta Quest Link'"

      But 'Beta' has vanished.

  • Ran into same issue. Beta is gone. Only see Account and General all of a sudden.

This does not fix the problem for me. I suppose the fix should bypass the missing Beta options in the Meta Horizon Link application. But in my registry those options were already enabled, i guess from an older version with those settings. But the problem still persist, i cannot access spatial data over link (meta quest 3 connected via usb cable). It seems that there is still an issue with access rights. There is also no popup or question while connecting / requesting the corresponding android access rights.

This is just an idea, but if you don't have Developer mode enabled, try enabling it. I suspect that might be why the registry fix is working for some but not for others.
