Minimum version of Netcode for Game Objects Block

Setting a game up for the competition and trying to use the  Auto Matchmaking block for example. These Network Blocks seem to want NGO 1.7.1 which older then the current version of 2.7.0.

As a work around I uninstalled 2.7.0 and installed 1.14.1 (oldest one available to me in Unity6.2). This allowed me to install the Auto Matchmaking block. I then upgraded back to 2.7.0. After that I had the same issue again with trying to drop in the Networked Avatar block.

Is there a way to override these pre-requiste versions?

  • Hi iByte

The AutoMatchmaking Building Block is currently compatible only with Unity Networking for GameObjects (NGO) version 1.x.x. Support for NGO version 2.x and above is planned for future releases.

As a temporary workaround, you may consider installing the Building Block while using NGO v1.14.1, and subsequently upgrading to NGO v2.x. Please note, however, that this configuration is not officially supported. If you encounter any issues during this process, we may be unable to provide assistance.

  • I also brought up this issue a while back. Not sure if they are on it to make Netcode v2 compatible but as far as I know, I don't see a way to override the pre-requisite versions which is a shame.

Is there any reason you require using Netcode v2?

For new projects I usually try to use the latest versions of packages unless there is a reason to revert. When you have issues the very first request from support is usually to upgrade.

It would seem some of the other Networking BB also have a 1.x requirement. I will do as you suggest for now. Thank You for the reply.
