I had a problem when trying to transfer large .mkv files over with my 64GB S6 using usb cable connected directly to win 8.1 pc. Whenever I would try to copy and paste a file it would crash windows explorer. But when I renamed the video file from .mkv to .avi it transfered over without any problems.
Yep, and I think that was the culprit. On the Mac, Android File Transfer has a 4GB limit. Can't get around that.
But on my PC, the test file I was using was an 8GB CAB file. When I changed the extension to .tmp, it transferred fine. Then I uploaded a 5GB MP4 video and that worked as well.
Problem solved, but it's interesting that certain file types are taboo.
