Unable to create meta developer account

I cannot register for Meta for developers, I always get this message

You can't make this change at the moment

This is because we noticed you are using a device you don't usually use and we need to keep your account safe. We'll allow you to make this change after you've used this device for a while.

I have used this device to access facebook / instagram for years now. Can someone please help?

  • Was your issue resolved? And how did you resolve this issue as I am facing the same error.

  • This error is related to Meta's account security system, not specifically the developer platform. It’s triggered when their system detects a change in login behavior — even if you’ve used the device before. This can happen due to:

Logging in from a different IP address or geographic location (e.g., VPN or mobile data)

Clearing browser cookies or using incognito mode

Recent changes to your account (e.g., password change, 2FA setup)

Here are a few things you can try:

Log in to Facebook normally (not through the developer site) and make sure everything looks fine — no recent security alerts or messages.

Wait 24–48 hours while continuing to use the same device and network. Often, Meta just needs time to “trust” the device again.

Avoid VPNs or proxy services during this time — use your regular home or work connection.

Use a browser with a clean session (not incognito) and allow cookies and JavaScript.
