Lock it in place like a lego
The first thoughts I had were hooks or pop in, but I thought they might be jarring or break to often. “Shrug” the hooks would be like latches that lock into place. They go forward and the triangles hook into a triangular recess. But I figured it might break easily. So a Lego alternative might/may work a little better/cheaper

Or you could use similar tech to how a phone charger stays in place. Those little indents that a spring holds in place.
Why not simply hinge it away from the face, like Vive do:
