NoesisGUI world

For the next contest I've used NoesisGUI, Meta AI  images and a simple JSON file to create a mobile-friendly retro text adventure engine. People can create text adventures in JSON and Meta AI images with no coding knowledge.

Demo link: https://horizon.meta.com/world/827765603325078

The demo saves progress in PPV variables so people can come back but it really should not take long to play.

If there is interest I can put up a document next week describing the JSON file format and create worlds for people that want to run their own games using the engine.

I'm thinking that it might be fun to create VR worlds with arcade game rooms that have retro games like these.

  • The ability to script loading new NoesisGUI pages added (looks at calendar) four days before the contest deadline opens up all kinds of new possibilities.

Will see what I can do.

[Update: it looks like the page feature is not in the latest release despite the mention in the release notes. πŸ˜• ]

The obvious thing is to open up a list of other adventures to choose from. The JSON file allows for as many adventures as will fit in memory.

The Meta AI images are so good that I added a button to toggle the image size so that players can get a better view.

  • I *think* this NoesisGUI game is about ready to submit, although I might have time to add more features / bug fixes on the weekend. Constructive feedback from testers is always welcome.

I am working on a second demo of my NoesisGUI / Meta AI images adventure engine, "Time Trouble". A bit of it should be ready by the submission deadline.

I'm always going to love 3D VR experiences but if I am going to create a flat mobile game, the Meta AI imagery certainly livens it up.
