Parts-Based Animation System
Hello! I'm Todd, AKA Scarcesoft. I've seen a few people asking about importing animated characters into Horizon Worlds, and while this isn't yet possible for us regular creators, I've developed some tooling which makes it possible to have Blender-animated characters in your world now which are nearly as good as the "real thing" within a few minutes or hours, depending on the complexity of your character. I've used this system to animate goblins, xenomorph-like aliens, spiders, and more. You can see examples in the playlist below.
This was an AI-generated model I used to prove out the animation system. He patrols the halls of a friend's in-development world and attacks the players.
Within the next few days I'll be releasing the next series which will cover best practices for how to separate existing characters into parts in a way which doesn't make them look silly.
