Nightmode getting better?

I took a picture in the night and I have got the feeling that the nightmode is getting better.

The picturesound also took a little longer. I think that the exposure time is increased at low lighting conditions. And when I'm not fidging around but holding still the nighttime pictures are getting pretty good.

Can someone confirm?
