AI live

I am submitting a formal complaint regarding the sale of Meta smart glasses in Puerto Rico.

On Sunday I purchased the Ray-Ban Meta Skyler Gen 2 specifically to use the live AI feature, which is presented as a core capability. After purchase, I discovered that this feature is disabled in Puerto Rico and this limitation was not clearly disclosed.

As a result, the product does not perform as advertised for consumers in this region. The region settings are also restricted, preventing access to these features.

I work with veterans and individuals with visual impairments and I was evaluating this device for assistive use. Without AI functionality, the product does not meet its intended purpose in this context.

It is concerning that US citizens in Puerto Rico do not have equal access to the full capabilities of a product that is actively being sold here.

Are there plans to enable AI features in Puerto Rico or to clearly disclose these limitations to consumers?

Er, the list of supported countries is published directly on Meta's website:

AI glasses supported countries | AI glasses help (en-gb)

Puerto Rico is not on that list. Within the United States, only the contiguous states, Alaska, and Hawaii are supported. That means the product was never advertised as fully functional in Puerto Rico, and Meta isn't obligated to provide feature parity in regions outside the supported list.

The real issue isn't that Meta "owes" unsupported regions full functionality - it's that the current rollout creates confusion and inconsistent expectations for customers who aren't aware of the regional limitations.

Also, just a reminder: this is a community forum. There's no official Meta support here, so Meta won't respond to your questions.
