Meta Gen 2 & Sony Xperia

Why is that many people who use Sony Xperia devices unable to use the Meta Ai glasses after the new app update and as well as the new Android update? I tried reaching out to Sony as well as to Meta to help the situation but nothing came out..... The app store says the device is supported and the app will run on this device. I can use the glasses as a Bluetooth headset but can't connect from the app😐 anyone any idea please help

  • It is happenning for everybody. They are not able to fix it as they most likely don't know how to do engineering. The sad part is they never reply to those messages. They always act like they don't see, they don't care. Even a message like "we are trying to fix this issue" would help. At the end they are a simple social media match making company. It is a big mistake for a simple match making company created from a template trying to do a real engineering. They lack of skills unfortunatelly. I hope apple, google or microsoft takes them over and we can see real engineering instead of template engineering.

  • Exactly the same issue here. Brand new Oakley Vanguards and looks like I might be forced to change my phone to use them properly? Ridiculous.

  • I'm having the same issue with my Sony Xperia 1 VI. I'm stuck on pairing I bought these when I was on vacation I didn't really had the time to trying to fix it at that time. now I'm just walking around with a dumb vanguards that could be smart. I could have just bought a regular vanguards. for now I'm using my dad's iPhone. and every time I want to record or to download my videos. I have to ask my dad for his phone

    which is annoying

  • So I've been using Sony phones for probably 20 years.... I have the Oakley Meta HSTNs. I have an Xperia 1VII that I'm using in the USA and it pairs to the phone as a headset but not to the app I think it's something to do with Android 16 update on here.  I also have an Xperia 1 Mark 5 and Xperia Pro-i that I'm testing them on... So I can get them to pair on both of those phones just fine... So right now I carry two phones my 1 Mark 7 and the Pro-i. The Pro-i and 1 Mark 5 zero issues pairing are both still on android 15.  I'm just getting tired of it lol 😂 I still love my Pro-i I just don't have phone service on it.  The common issues seems to be something in Android 16. On the Xperia 1 Mark 7.

Have you résolve the problem ??

  • Same problem with my Xperia 10vii Android 16... Appairing is block with Rayban meta gen2.... What is the problem please

  • I just updated my my Xperia 1VII to 71.1.A.2.134 still this isn't working.... Unfortunately....

  • I just updated my sont xperia 1 VII but I still can't use the glasses. Apparently the issue is from Meta and they don't want to bother to fix it. Sony community is a very small community for them to make money so they don't care.

It's a small community but we already have multiple people on the forum here... So it's either larger than they think or maybe we are just us Sony Xperia people are early adopters or very techie people... So maybe there are more of us than they think....

This is very frustrating indeed.  However, I confirmed that Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 running latest Android 16 can pair with Oakley Meta HSTN.  It seemed the Sony failed to respond to Meta AI App's requests to control the speaker volume via Bluetooth right after successful Bluetooth pairing, and Meta AI App could not handle that error and failed the pairing process.  At this point, the AI glasses had paired with the Xperia over Bluetooth as a headset; yet the Meta AI App had not registered it as a Meta AI device.  I wish I could find a way to contact someone from Sony or Meta to assist with debugging that handshaking.

Please do!  Have you tried contacting Sony support and letting them know the issue and what you think would fix it?  Are you thinking it's on the meta side of the app that is the problem?  Or the Sony side or both lol

  • Good news everybody! I received a sony update this morning and the glasses are working now!
