Oakley Vanguard wifi issues

When I try and set up my Meta Oakley Vanguard glasses it lists all the wifi routers in the neighborhood except mine! Can you add it manually?

    HI Leon,

We understand you are encountering wifi issues with your Meta Oakley Vanguard glasses. Here are a few steps to resolve this:

    1. Try force-restarting the glasses by holding the capture button while turning them on until a red light appears, then releasing and waiting for a blinking white light
    2. Check your phone's Wi-Fi, ensure your router is on and the signal is strong,
    3. Make sure that the glasses are charged, turned on and placed in the case.
    4. Press and hold the pairing button on the back of the case for 5 seconds. Release when case LED pulses a blue light.
    5. Check if your AI glasses show up in your phone's Bluetooth connections. If they do, forget the connection, then try pairing your glasses again.
    6. If that doesn't solve the issue, try deleting and reinstalling the Meta AI mobile app on your phone.

    Have a wonderful day!

  • I may have spoken too soon. It worked once but now I am now longer able to connect to my router despite multiple attempts at the above instructions. I continue to see multiple routers in the list except mine which is next to me.

      Hi again leon.326440,

We see that the issue hasn't been resolved as of yet, so lets try something else.

We would recommend using the RouteThis Helps app, to run a diagnostic scan on your local network. This will help identify any potential issues and provide troubleshooting steps to resolve them.

To get the RouteThis app and troubleshoot your network:

      1. Download the RouteThis Helps app on your iOS or Android phone or tablet.
      2. Open the RouteThis Helps app and tap Begin.
      3. Enter the code FBRL.
      4. Select the issue that you are experiencing. If you select "Wi-Fi coverage", a tool will help you identify if your current area has poor Wi-Fi coverage. Other options will scan your network for other issues.
      5. Stand within 1.8 metres (6 feet) of your headset and tap Next, then tap Network scan.
      6. When the scan has finished, you'll see a screen displaying your Wi-Fi speed result. Tap Review and follow the instructions in the app.
        • The scan takes about two minutes. Keep the app open while the scan is running.

If you still have issues please don't hesitate to get back in touch!

The exact same thing is happening to me but instead of showing all networks but mine it's showing no networks. This is my issue: Got my new metas last week, software issues, won't pick up wifi, connect manually, then when the glasses go back in the case the WiFi drops off and the app cannot pick up the wifi again. The only thing that fixes it is uninstalling and reinstalling the app every day. I also have the meta Raybans and they are connecting with no issues at all so it has to be a software issue in the vanguards? Awaiting a response from Oakley customer services on a replacement.

Hi there Mcafee0221 and thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Firstly we would just like to say that we do not offer any kind of telephone support relating to standard AI Glasses, we only offer support via telephone when it comes to the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. If you are ever unsure if a support channel you are using is actually Meta, please post it on this forum, or send us a private message and we will confirm this for you.

When it comes to the actual issue you are facing, we would recommend that you submit a bug report in order to flag this with our developers and get this resolved. You can submit a bug report by following these steps:

        1. From the Meta AI mobile app, tap in the top left.
        2. Tap Settings in the bottom left.
        3. Scroll down and tap Help & support.
        4. Tap Submit a report.
        5. Follow the on-screen instructions to describe your issue and submit your report.

We have linked a more detailed guide to this here for you.

We hope that this helps and you have a lovely day!

  • Hi

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate the help.

    I have run the diagnostic.

Signal is described as great with download speed of 522 Mbps and upload of 46.2 Mbps

Two suggestions were proved under the other option.

    1. You have many devices on the network. Which is true although they all work perfectly normally, only the smart glasses don't.
    2. You have a range extender and to position the glasses closer to the main router which is the case. Also to give the range extender a unique network name which it has.

    At my wits end.

Same. I've been on the phone with Meta, down suck eggs trouble shooting, the issues is when the glasses go back into the case over night, the next day they refuse to connect to my wifi that they should already be connect to! This is a software issue.
