Reply finally came in from Meta and sadly it isn't very helpful:
"Yes, that feature should be working since it was a feature before the latest version was released. However, if this case was not resolved by the troubleshooting provided before, we highly recommend reaching out to Ray-ban support because we are unable to help with all issues with smart glasses. The Ray-Ban partnership on this device was a great move in terms of providing glasses with style and desirability but it would be a shame if it resulted in both companies blaming each other for bugs. To me, this really doesn't feel like a Ray-Ban issue. Surely it's software related and specifically due to the Meta View app?
