Vanguard and Fenix 8 connection

After the debacle of the last week I have been able to finally connect by Meta AI app into Strava and Garmin.

I've downloaded the Garmin IQ app and installed the fields to my Fenix 8 although I can't see its made any difference to the watch.

When I start an activity I cannot see any reference on the glasses. I thought it would start automatically.

I've also tried to listen to music on the watch via the glasses and cannot seem to get a bluetooth connection to the watch. I have tried with the glasses in their box and by holding the capture button but it still doesn't appear to find them.

  • I can get music playing to the glasses via my phones bluetooth connection. But I want to use these for marathon runs for which I would only have my watch and would not carry my phone.

  • I have managed to now get the glasses to connect to my watch. I can listen to music and if I capture images and video manually it captures the stats.

However the auto capture function isnt working. How do I check it is configured correctly and working at the start of the run?

  • It looks as though for the auto capture to work you need to have your phone with you, for some reason it cannot be triggered by the watch, does anyone know if that is correct?

  • Yeah unfortunately the Meta Glasses need the Meta AI-App from your phone. I don't think there is an App for standalone SmartWatches but maybe I'm not up-to-date to that.

However when I use my glasses I can change the music with my SmartWatch (Phone Bluetooth connected).

its a bit frustrating as thats not really garmin watch integration, its using your phone which is integrating with your watch.

I think I will likely for marathons just use them for music and manually capture anything I want to.
