Worksite Edition for AI Glasses: Rugged, Affordable + Built-in Light + Hands-Free Remote Support

Hi Meta team and community,

I’d like to suggest a “Worksite Edition” of AI glasses for field workers (construction, installers, maintenance, utilities).

 

Need: On job sites, people must document work (including insurance claims), get help fast, and keep both hands free. Phones are inconvenient/unsafe, and using a headlamp still leaves you with only one free hand during calls.

 

Proposal: a rugged, cost-optimized model made for bulk enterprise purchases, focused on utility over style:

 

Built-in adjustable work light (hands-free)

Hands-free video calling for remote support (“what I see is what support sees”)

Glove-friendly controls and quick workflows

Better durability for dust/impacts and clear privacy/recording indicators

 

Use cases: hands-free documentation (reports/claims), remote assistance via live video calls for troubleshooting and guided installations, and remote training for new operators.

    That's an excellent idea but Meta has increasingly centralized feedback into private channels (in‑app reporting, developer programs, internal analytics) rather than open forums where users can see and upvote ideas. There used to be an Ideas Board here, but Meta shut it down months ago. You are probably wasting your time posting here. Maybe use the reporting feature in the Meta AI app (shake your phone or select "Help & Support">"Submit a report").
