HDR no longer working on my Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1

Hey everyone,

I’ve had my Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 glasses for about three weeks now. During the first two weeks, my videos were definitely in HDR, I could even see the “HDR” tag in the video info on my phone after recording. But for the past few days, that tag no longer appears, and the videos look flatter and less dynamic.

The recordings are still 1080p 60fps, so performance is fine, but the HDR part seems to have completely disappeared.

Has anyone else noticed this recently? Could it be related to a firmware or app update? Or did Meta just remove HDR recording for Gen 1 users ?

  • Hey Cyrilmch,

I just checked and I have never had a HDR tag in one of my videos. The resolution of my videos taken with the Gen 1 glasses is not constant... I noticed some videos are 1360x1824px others are 1552x2064px...

Maybe because of the stabilisers and autocrop.

I noticed that the Videos are looking less dynamic when the battery is low. I have never had a "HDR" option in the settings, but that might be some regional thing again (I'm in Germany)...

Might be related with an update. Are you using android or iOS?

I’m in France and IOS device. HDR seems to be back today, I tried to record and it looks so much better, the tag « hdr » shows up in the video details.
