Just cannot link my Oakley Vanguard to Garmin or Strava

I bought my Oakley Meta Vanguard in London Saturday 13th. I have tried multiple times via Meta AI app to link to Garmin and Strava. Just doesnt work. Press the link button then screen goes white.

Ive deleted and reinstalled apps loads. My watch is a Fenix 8 so fully compatable.

Further my Apple Health and Apple Music linked no trouble

I'm ready to throw them back at Oakley for a refund later this weekend

I finally got a note from Meta saying Garmin isn’t fully supported yet in UK & Strava is full of glitches so may not link.

oakley in fairness have been great and gave me a full refund yesterday

  • I have the same problem, I tried everything. I ordered mine at Meta itself. My edge 1040 solar and Epix gen 2 are compatible. Also have the white screen; been mailing with support numerous times. The last reply was that they can't help me out because this is a Garmin issue???

At first, support was helpful. What they told me to troubleshoot (although none of this works)

    • Uninstall Meta AI app en reinstall and connect again your Vanguard
    • Empty cache of your browser on your phone
    • Restart Garmin appliance and phone
    • Factory reset and re-install Vanguard, reinstall app Meta AI

None of this works, and they basically ended the conversation by sending me to Garmin support

Apple, Spotify etc just works fine...

What a shame, and unbelievable they cannot fix this...

  • I’ve had the exact same issues, I have done the app uninstall reinstall as Meta advised, I spoke with Technical at Garmin UK and was told this is a  Meta issue. So back to square one. Just have to wait for a fix.

What’s really annoying is that Meta or Garmin haven’t put out a statement saying this is a known issue with a timestamp for a fix. 😡

I finally had Meta come back and they said Garmin is fully supported in UK yet, so won’t link

oakly in fairness have refunded me

  • I just managed to solve this reading a comment in this community: I get connected through a VPN linked to US location and it connected straight away…it worked
