Lost but messages come through

I lost my glasses in the case, however at home I randomly get a case is low battery message pushed to my phone. Does that happen only if they are in a 30ish meter range? Also this morning it showed connected on my app showing the battery percentage of the glasses and low battery on the case, however I haven’t been able to get the Bluetooth to connect since. Could these be lost in my home?
