Meta AI - What Am I Looking At - Not Available in My Region - California
Hello,
I recently purchased a pair of Oakley Vanguard glasses. After setting them up, I tried using Meta AI by asking, What am I looking at? but I keep receiving the message, Asking what you see is not yet available in your region.
I’ve tried a factory reset, unpairing and repairing the glasses, enabling location services, and confirming that both the Meta AI app and the glasses are up to date, but nothing has worked. I live in California.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
I successfully connected with Meta Support, and they provided me with the following instructions. These instructions have resolved the issue for me.
1. Clean Slate Reset (Most Effective)
- Unpair your glasses from the Meta View app and delete the app.
- Connect to a US-based VPN server (e.g., New York or Los Angeles).
- Reinstall the Meta View app
- Sign in again, or create a new Meta account while connected to the VPN.
2. Check System Settings
- Ensure your phone’s region is set to United States and language to English (US).
- On iPhone, you may need to change your Apple ID region to the US.
- Disable “Precise Location” for the Meta View app in privacy settings.
3. Airplane Mode Trick
- Turn on Airplane Mode.
- Re-enable Wi-Fi
- Open the Meta View app and try toggling the AI features.
