Meta Display Glasses Always Gives the Same Answer No Matter Question.

Hello Everyone,

I have 2 pair of the Meta Display Glasses. One pair black and one brown pair. When I add the black pair to my phone and use them the Meta AI pretty much always answers the questions I ask. However, when I add the brown pair to my phone I get the same answer of "I can't help with that yet but im learning more everyday" message for everything no matter what I ask.

I'm using the same phone with the same Meta AI app but the experience is completely different on each of the glasses. The black pair I get answers for weather, temperature, navigation pretty much everything I ask. But when I set up the brown pair of glasses to the same phone and ask the exact same questions I get the generic message of "I can't help with that yet but im learning more everyday" as the answer for all questions.

I have checked the app permissions and have given permission for everything it's asking for. The app is completely unrestricted.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on with this brown pair of Meta Display Glasses? I am completely out of ideas on why this is happening and any help is greatly appreciated.

  • I am in the US. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 phone. All permissions are allowed all the time for Meta AI.

Meta rolls out features randomly. Two people sharing the same device can have different features. I suspect the randomness might also be on a per device basis, but I'm just guessing. What you haven't mentioned though, is whether both pairs of glasses are on exactly the same firmware/OS version. The other thing is that you might have bought or activated one pair of glasses in a different region. The Meta AI feature is region locked and that flag is stored in the device itself, not the user account.

  • I wanted to provide an update. I tried setting up the brown glasses on a different phone with a different Facebook account and now they work perfectly. It must be something to do with when you delete the other glasses from the app and setup the new glasses it's still attached to the old glasses. I think it's stupid you can only add one pair of glasses to the app. I wanted different styles for my mood and found out after I bought my second pair that it wasn't possible to add more than one pair of Meta Display Glasses to the Meta AI app.

Interesting. It's certainly stupid that the app only supports one pair of glasses at a time. This issue doesn't exist on the Meta app for VR headsets, for example.

  • Yeah the display glasses are rare and there is a strict one-per-person-policy (not one per account). I think that's to prevent greedy people from hoarding all the glasses while others wait for them for months.

Even if you have multiple accounts Meta has your IP and MAC-Adress and so on...

Glasses are attached to Users not to accounts (as far as I experienced). Meta AI also told me that there are voice identification processes going on in the background to make the glasses safe so they only accept commands from you.
