Photos Getting Blurry When Saved to Reminders (Gen 2)

I'm having a frustrating issue with my Gen 2 glasses where photos become extremely blurry when saved to Meta AI reminders. Has anyone else experienced this?

What's Happening

I've attached two screenshots of the same photo taken at the same time (October 9, 5:15 AM):

Image 1 - Shows the photo after Meta AI processes it - very blurry

Image 2 - Shows the same photo when first captured - clear and sharp

When I take photos with my Gen 2 glasses and save them to reminders:

  1. The photo starts out clear (you can see this in the capture)
  2. After saving to Meta AI reminders, it becomes really blurry
  3. Once blurry, it stays that way - the clear version is gone
  4. I can't export it to Camera Roll (option doesn't work when I click "save")

Why This Seems Like a Bug

I have Gen 1 glasses too, and this doesn't happen with them. Photos stay clear when saved to reminders and can be exported normally. So this appears to be something specific to Gen 2.

My Setup

Glasses:

  • Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 (Model: RB Meta 00Z1)
  • Firmware: 19.1

Phone:

  • iPhone 14 Pro Max
  • iOS: 26.0.1
  • Meta AI App: 241.0.0.35.166

What I've Tried

  • Updated to latest firmware
  • Updated Meta AI app to latest version
  • Tested with multiple photos - happens with all of them
  • Tried exporting - this failed
  • Reinstalled the Meta AI app and re-paired the glasses

Impact

For now, I've stopped using reminders via "Look and Remember" to save photos since they're getting degraded, and the only option is to quickly capture a screenshot on my iPhone before it renders blurry.

Questions

  1. Is anyone else seeing this with Gen 2 photos saved to reminders?
  2. Any workarounds people have found?

It might be that Meta AI is applying too much compression when saving photos to reminders on Gen 2, since the glasses capture them fine initially. Just curious if this is widespread or if I should look into returning the glasses.

Thanks for the help!

    Hey there,

Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention!

From what you're describing and from the pictures, this problem might be a bug, so what we'd recommend in this case is submitting a bug report for our engineering team, so that they can take a look at this problem.

You can do a bug report by following the steps below:

    1. Open the Meta AI mobile app and then tap in the top left.
    2. Tap Settings in the bottom left.
    3. Scroll down and tap Help & support.
    4. Tap Submit a report.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to describe your issue and submit your report.

Please make the report as detailed as possible, so that our team can recreate the problem and look for a fix.

Thank you and have a nice day!

  • I did submit a bug report, but this isn’t like opening a standard support ticket with any other company. You don’t get an email confirmation or a response about your requests, you don't receive a ticket number, and you get no response from Meta at all. This leaves me as the customer unable to know if the issue is known, if Meta is aware of it, if there’s a fix planned, or if they just don't care. So, as a customer, not knowing any of this makes me worried that I’ll have to deal with persistent bugs and issues that might never be fixed. It’s mind-blowing that features as simple as photos and reminders weren’t tested in the latest version of iOS 26 non-beta, especially coming from a company as large as Meta. This is completely eroding my trust in the product and the company. It would be different if I had an active support ticket I could track and someone responding to me, but just submitting and hoping is utterly ridiculous.

I’m having same issues… just done this morning same bug. I’m a 2 days user so far and the issues I’m finding and seriously poor way it intergrates is such a shame for a device with such potential

        Hey there,

We hear you're also having the same problem with the reminder feature. If you haven't yet, then please make a bug report with the steps we mentioned before, while this doesn’t generate a ticket number or confirmation email, it will send your feedback directly to our internal teams for review for them to look into it.

The more report we get on this, the easier it will be for our team to recreate the problem and find a fix as soon as possible. We know this isn't ideal while only having been a Gen 2 AI glasses owner of 2 days, but we hope to get this resolved as soon as possible.

Thank you and we hope you have a wonderful day!
