Ray-ban Meta Whatsapp Issue

Hello,

I own a pair of ray-ban meta wayfarer.

Everything is working fine, excepting Whatsapp messages (text and voice).

If I say: “send a message to XX using whatsapp”, or “send a voice message to XX using whatsapp”, whatsapp says something like “Who do you want to send the message to? 1-MARIA 2-MARIA VARGAS 3-MARIA SANCHEZ, and if I say 1-MARIA, it says “I’ve found several contacts called MARIA, remove duplicates or assign a unique contact name”.

I haven’t duplicate contact names.

There’s no issue when I want to make telephone calls, it works perfectly.

PLEASE HELP!!

    We understand you're experiencing issues sending WhatsApp messages via voice commands on your Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer glasses. While calls work correctly, WhatsApp is prompting for contact clarification even when duplicates don’t appear in your contact list. Let’s walk through some steps to help resolve this:
     

    *  Confirm Contact Uniqueness:
    WhatsApp may detect similar entries across synced accounts. Please:

    Open your phone’s Contacts app.

    Search for the name (e.g., “Maria”) and verify that each entry has:

    A unique name (e.g., “Maria Vargas” vs “Maria Sanchez”).

    A single phone number associated with WhatsApp.

    If multiple entries share the same first name, consider renaming them with a unique identifier (e.g., “Maria V”, “Maria S”).

     

    *  Refresh contact sync:

    To ensure WhatsApp and Meta AI are accessing the latest contact data:

    On your phone, go to Settings > Accounts > WhatsApp or Google > Sync Contacts.

    Toggle sync off, wait 10 seconds, then toggle it on again.

    Restart your phone and your Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer glasses.

    *  Use Specific Voice Commands:

    When sending a message, try using the full contact name.

    Say: “Send a WhatsApp message to Maria Vargas.”

    Avoid using just the first name if multiple contacts share it.

    *  Update and reinstall apps: Close and reopen both the Meta AI app and WhatsApp. If the problem persists, try deleting and reinstalling the Meta AI app.

  • I had the same issue. The thing is that I have indeed had a duplicate contact but not in WhatsApp, what caused the confusion. 

    Check your normal contacts app (not over WhatsApp) for "Maria". I am pretty sure you have more than one (maybe on the SIM card). Just remove or rename the duplicate and you should be good to go ;)

  • Oh lord, it happened to me EVERY TIME AND IS SOO FRUSTRATING...

    But try disconect and reconnect it, sometimes helps, but then it will happen again later...
