Vanguard Charging Issue (Red flashing LED)

My new Meta Vanguard sunglasses (one day old) won't charge. I'm getting a constant flashing red LED, even though the case is fully charged (green LED). l've cleaned the contacts and tried a factory reset, but no change.

Has anyone had this issue or found a fix?

    Hey there Edhop16,

We came across your post and wanted to lend a helping hand in getting your Vanguards back up-and-running!

If you've been using your Vanguards when out and about, it's likely that a little sweat has got into the charging pins of your glasses. Sweat can prevent charging, so we would advise that you wipe the charging pins of the case and the glasses with a clean, dry cloth. You could also try blowing cool air into the charging pins - no heat please! To be extra sure, you could also leave them to completely dry for 24 hours.

Additional steps you could try are:

    - Check and make sure there is nothing blocking the charging pins (located on the bridge of the docking pad inside the charging case).

    - Connect the charging case to a power source and make sure its LED lights up while plugged in.

Also make sure case is charging correctly:

    - Try a different USB-C cable (using a USB-C adapter is recommended.)

    - Try a different power source

    - Try a different USB-C charging plug (if charging from a power outlet and not from a USB point)

I have two Meta Vanguard and they are both one month old and both can't charge (case is green LED but the when I put the glasses it blinks red.). One of those is still 67% battery ao the glasses are fine, the other went all the way to 0%.

I've cleaned the contacts but nothing! Frustrating

  • I seem to be having the same problem. My Vanguards are less than a month old and I’ve used them for around 4 to 5 activities.

After my latest activity 2 days ago, I wiped the glasses with a dry towel to dry off the sweat on the sides, then used the cloth case to clean the glasses/lens before placing it in the charging case and left it there.

As I checked the glasses today to confirm that it has fully charged for my activity tomorrow, the app showed me a warning that the speakers are apparently not working, and that the battery is down to almost 0% or is in the red.

I tried charging it again but each time I place it back in the charging case, I only get a blinking red light and it won’t charge.

I already tried force restarting, reset to factory setting, and force restarted also the charging case to no avail. I’ve wiped the contacts and charging pin with the cloth case and cleaned them also with cotton buds but it still won’t charge.

What else can I do to fix this and charge my Vanguards? I know that the charging case is fully charged as it blinks green when I open and close it without the Vanguards inside.

  • I am also having the same problem.  Used the Vanguard for a few weeks and I tried it one day and the batera was down.  I cleaned and did the reset and it is not charging.  The case is charging ok and it blinks green when I charge it.  But when I put the glasses in the case, it blinks red.

    Hello, same problem for me.

case is green when glasses are not in, but as long as I put the glasses on, it blinks Red.
