Wake word change confusion v 19.1

    Hey there! We want to give you an update on our AI glasses. We know some of you have been having trouble using the wake word "OK Meta," and we're sorry for any confusion or frustration that's caused.


    First, we want to clarify that "OK Meta" is still a valid wake word for our AI features. If you're having issues, please submit a bug report so we can investigate.

    To report a bug:
    1. From the Meta AI mobile app, tap the three lines in the top left.
    2. Tap Settings in the bottom left.
    3. Scroll down and tap Help & support.
    4. Tap Submit a report.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to describe your issue and submit your report.


    We understand how important this feature is to so many community members, and we're working hard to figure out what's going on. 
    Our team is dedicated to making sure our products are accessible and easy to use for everyone.

Hi there Colin.hughes.132778,

 

We noticed your post, and while you may not be able to change the wake word with the new update there is a handy feature that allows you to interact with Meta AI without having to wake it.

 

To turn Respond without “Hey Meta” on/off from the Meta AI app:

  • In the Meta AI App, tap the Glasses icon
  • If you have multiple devices paired with the Meta AI mobile app, swipe left or right to select the device you want to use
  • Tap Settings
  • Tap Meta AI
  • Select “Hey Meta” preferences
  • Tap the toggle next to Respond without “Hey Meta” to turn this feature on or off

 

When this feature is turned on:

The microphone will stay on for a brief duration after each request.

If you start talking within a few seconds following a voice command, the glasses will record and process your audio during that time.

 

The notification LED will show if your glasses are processing your audio.

The microphone will turn off automatically in a few seconds if no more requests are made.

A conversation with your glasses can be ended by saying "Stop" or "Cancel."
