Wake word change confusion v 19.1

    Hey there! We want to give you an update on our AI glasses. We know some of you have been having trouble using the wake word "OK Meta," and we're sorry for any confusion or frustration that's caused.


    First, we want to clarify that "OK Meta" is still a valid wake word for our AI features. If you're having issues, please submit a bug report so we can investigate.

    To report a bug:
    1. From the Meta AI mobile app, tap the three lines in the top left.
    2. Tap Settings in the bottom left.
    3. Scroll down and tap Help & support.
    4. Tap Submit a report.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to describe your issue and submit your report.


    We understand how important this feature is to so many community members, and we're working hard to figure out what's going on. 
    Our team is dedicated to making sure our products are accessible and easy to use for everyone.

I am not looking to “change the wake word”. I am just curious about why the change in 19.1 after two years? and why I can still use “Ok Meta” on my Headliner Gen 1 running v 19.1 but not on my Wayfarer Gen 2 running v 19.1? There is an inconsistency

    We regret that this change has impacted your user experience. However, we are confident that this change is intended to avoid conflicts with other smart devices. Using "Ok" as a wake word often triggers devices like Google Home and Android phones, which also wake with "Ok Google," causing the devices to misinterpret commands. Technology is constantly changing, and we don't want you to be left behind. We're sure you'll get used to it little by little.

      Thanks but I think it’s better the users get to make the choice- plus “hey google” is still a trigger as well as “hey siri” I’ve got all and I’ve NEVER had a mis-trigger.

       

      ”we’re sure you’ll get used to it little by little” isn’t very user based.again taking away features - again as a new user i ask - where do you get the feedback to remover functions customers seem to like or want to have options.

      No one uses “oi” why not use that if you don’t want to trigger others?? 😂

      I have never heard of a case that other smart devices got activated by "Okay Meta". 

      "Meta", "Google", "Siri" and "Alexa" are phonetically soo different that I really doubt that they get triggered by one of the other names! And more vocal letters should help to reduce the risk of a false activation.

      I am sorry to put it this way but your arguments are useless and your last two sentences were just empty phrases...

      Just say "the triggerword depends on your device and the Gen 2 glasses don't support that feature (yet)"...

      I don't know what's so hard about giving an easy answer...
