How to invite linked Facebook Account to Release Channel

I want to invite someone who has linked 4 Oculus GO with his Facebook Account to the BETA Channel of an app. Adding the e-mail address of that facebook account gives me the error:
Sorry, we couldn't locate the user that you were looking for. The provided value does not match any account: userx@xxx.xx

How do I get him in there?

    thanks for the answer, but that's exactly the question. You're able to link with Facebook right from the start. Does this make the facebook account your occulus account or not I'm wondering

    Is it possible they don't have an Oculus account with that email?  I don't know if that's a requirement but I managed to add someone to a release channel a few days ago.
