Allow ability to film in both portrait and/or landscape aspect with Ray-Ban Meta Glasses.
Can the developers please create and release a downloadable update that allows creators to film in both portrait and/or landscape modes? Maybe make this a setting we can toggle between in the app. This would be so helpful thank you.

Yes meta hurry up and do it before some other brand switches to do it first. I want the meta ray ban but just figured out that there was no functionality in Puerto Rico for some reason even thou we are regular American citizens.
Landscape has been the number one upgrade that people want on these glasses.

To the creators of Ray-Ban Meta,
I want to start by saying that I absolutely love your glasses. They are stylish, innovative, and the collaboration with Ray-Ban makes them incredibly appealing. These glasses truly inspire a desire to use them as they embody both fashion and technology.
Technically, they are excellent. However, I am genuinely surprised by the lack of horizontal video recording. I understand that it is technically feasible—I can record horizontally by holding the glasses sideways and then editing the video later—but this workaround feels unnecessary when the hardware itself could support the feature. As many users have rightly pointed out, the absence of this mode significantly reduces interest in the product.
I personally know dozens of people who chose not to purchase these glasses for this very reason. While I understand that prioritizing vertical video likely serves to align with Meta’s platforms like Facebook and Instagram, ensuring users create content tailored to those formats, this approach limits the glasses’ versatility.
As a video creator with over 8 years of experience and more than a million followers across various platforms, I can confidently say that by restricting horizontal video recording, you’re alienating a significant number of content creators. Many are already waiting for the next generation of smart glasses, including those from competitors whose devices are set to release in 2025. These devices, some already available for pre-order on Kickstarter, are capturing the attention of potential buyers.
I still believe in Ray-Ban Meta’s potential, and I hope Meta takes this feedback seriously. Adding horizontal video recording in an upcoming update could be a game-changing decision that ensures your glasses remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
It’s worth noting that, while Ray-Ban Meta glasses lack features like AI capabilities, projection displays, and other advanced functions offered by competitors, they still stand out for their style and as a pioneering product. However, time is running out. The frustration of having to hold glasses like a camera to achieve horizontal video—and then editing it later—is a significant drawback, even for a product as sleek, beautiful, and comfortable as yours.
The opportunity to lead this market still exists, but don’t delay horizontal video recording any further. Enthusiasm for a stylish product can only carry you so far before functionality becomes the deciding factor.
