I agree and am seeking a solution for this across the various workroom platforms out there. In my particular use case, I have a workstation (can be desktop or laptop) that I have hard-wired to my keyboard, mouse, monitors, ethernet, etc. I want to be able to move to a different place in my physical environment, for example my kitchen table. With the recent updates in pass-through and hand tracking, I can rely on my hands and can leave the remotes behind. This leaves me with my productivity peripherals. My tracked keyboard (Logitec MX Keys) and a bluetooth mouse that is also connected.
So far, I have found Meta Workrooms to be the easiest environment to jump in and out of. It would be great if the virtual monitors had some sort of persistance, since it resets back to 1 virtual monitor if the device is set down for too long. What is not working is described well by Dave on the original post. The tracked keyboard does not interact with my remote desktop. This functionality is pretty common with all other remote desktop applications, like Splashtop, TeamViewer, and others in that class.
Ideally, keyboard, mouse, vr controls, and hand-tracking input would be passed along to the virtual environment.
