7 years agoOculus Go mp4 playback issues
We're experiencing some strange playback issues when recording videos in the Oculus Go headset using the Record function. Up until recently, there were no issues.
Videos generally play on device (Home -> Gallery -> internal, etc.) but copying them from the device does produce anything which CANNOT be played by standard media players (Windows Media Player, VLC, etc. on Windows and OSX machines).
However, triggering the video on/off using the debug controls ( debug.oculus.enableVideoCapture ) seems to work consistently.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Any suggestions (other than use the command line to trigger recording)?
Thanks in advance.

- EchoExclusiveStart PartnerI also have issues recording on the GO. I tried this but did NOT work: I would launch my game, exit when it is loaded then select record video. When I quit my game, the record is still on so I have to click record video to end it. The file I get is a com.oculus.vrshell instead of the package name of my game. I have recorded on the GO earlier this month with no issues. Hopefully it is a short term issue
- MaxArchHeroic ExplorerI just noticed this problem as well. Not being able to share recorded sessions anymore is a big loss. Any solutions / workarounds?
