Oculus Rift Acellerator on X-, Y- and Y-axis.....
Hi. I just got an Ocucus Rift and I am sure having a hard time turning my neck, when I am in a dogfight in a flight game. I am wondering, why you didnt put in an accellerator for x-, y-, z-axis.... If you take a look at TrackIR, then you are abel to adjust your accelerations on all axis, so therefore you still can keep your eyes on your monitor. In VR you are very limited by FOV 110 degres, but you you put an accellerator for x- and y- axis it would become a less stress on the neck to turn more becouse the missing FOV on 180 degress that my own eye have from side to side.
It could be implimated inside the setting in Oculus software and deffently would give a great lift for those games, where you need to move your head to look around alot.
Sure hope to see this comming one day, so the gamer/player, can adjust the accelration. Sure should be implimented for x-, y- and z- axis as a minimum. Could also be a great help for older people and handicap persons....
Hope to see this happening soon as a part of developing the VR in to a more personal preferens for each player....

- AnonymousYeah I've seen requests for this on the developer side also, to be able to enable more sensitive look motion. I totally get why it would be helpful in certain applications. My guess is that Oculus hasn't made it available because the potential to mess things up. If you somehow adjusted these settings outside of your app, or when the user wasn't expecting it, it would cause nausea/unusable experience very quickly. Just my thoughts/guesses on the situation currently.
- ChocksOneExplorerYaa. But why at all bey a VR, when you risk getting nausea/sick..... If was ment for those, who like to use thise settings. Also why I think it should be inside the software from Oculus/Steam VR, so it as a standard are switch OFF and the user himself can switch it on is surden situations. I my self are new to VR and have to be patience, before I go out flying to mutch in fighter jets. No blame for Oculus or those who makes the games. It is my own responsebility.... Dont try VR if you dont like to risk getting VR-sick :)
BUT I still as a pilot inside DCS cant see over my shoulder cause to FOW 110 degress only and therefor an accelerator would help my flying very mutch.
It could also be as an optional download from Oculus/Steam VR, so you yourself have to go get it.... I just miss it for my personal usage. Therefor I will go back for now to TrackIR, that gives me the freedom to make my own settings, BUT forces me to use my monitor/tv..... AND it was deffently not why I personal did get VR :)
Sure, an accelerator would not be useble or used by all VR users, but I sure could use one and also see the usage for handecaped people fx. being useble.....
Hope to see it implimented one day :)

I would guess from their standpoint it is keeping an unsafe tool from developers, I hadn't thought of it as a desired feature from a user's standpoint. It's worth pointing out to them for sure.
- ChocksOneExplorerOnes when VR not was an option, then I found TrackIR. At that time I had to bey it in USA. Around 7 years later, it was possible to bey here in Denmark. I think it has been for sale here in Denmark now for around 3 years. Simply to point out, it was not a desire for most gamers, but it sure was a big improvement for the exsperience of getting the head in to those games that support it. Still it can be a dealbreaker, when games (especial flight games) dont support TrackIR. That is why I surgest, that Oculus/Steam VR make it a part of there software, so the game developers dont have to make it advaleble inside there games. It is sure a cool exsperience, when you can look around, but through FOV on only 110 degress, then you simple feel disabled by a limited look around. So for me it would be a big improvement of VR to build in an accelerator for x, y and z-axis. HOPE Oculus will take this as a friendly advise and impliment it in to there software or make it advaleble as a download/apps for the Oculus :) and hopeful before 7 or 10 years will pass....
