Oculus Store - Getting an App on the Store / How to become an approved developer?

Hi all,

I was hoping someone could help with a link or explanation of how you go about getting an App published onto the Oculus Store rather than just the lab? The FAQ section has a section about 'Store Submission FAQs' but it doesn't really tell you how.

The 'Create an App Page' is the closest I can find which makes it look like unless you are an 'Approved Oculus Quest Store developers' you wont have the option to create content for the Oculus Store? I suppose my question is have I understood this right, and if so, how do you become approved?

Many thanks

Phil

I'm still unsure, does they mean you submit an app on the app lab and if they think it match their quality requirements they add it to the store themself ?

  • Here's how to become an approved developer and start reaching players:

    Becoming an Oculus Developer:

    1. Sign Up: Head to the Oculus developer dashboard: https://www.facebook.com/OculusDev/ and create a developer account.

    2. Explore Resources: The Oculus developer portal offers a wealth of resources, tutorials, and documentation to guide you through the app development process specifically for Oculus devices.

    Getting Your App Approved:

    1. App Creation: Once you're familiar with the platform, create a new app in the developer dashboard.

    2. Content Guidelines: Review Oculus's App Content Guidelines to ensure your app meets their quality and safety standards. This is crucial for getting approved.

    3. Submission Process: The Oculus developer dashboard guides you through the app submission process, where you'll provide details, screenshots, and videos about your VR experience.

    4. Testing and Review: Be prepared for Oculus's testing and review process. They'll thoroughly assess your app for functionality, performance, and adherence to guidelines.
