3D Video
Is it possible to set up a program that would take video feed from two cameras and set it up so that it could then viewed through the Oculus Rift as a 3D vision? If yes, then how might one set up a program to do such a thing, and what programming language would be necessary to create this program?

Same basic question as yesterday, with multiple answers here:

Well since i know less than nothing about software, ill chime in. I think he wasn't talking about augmented reality, but recording your own oculus videos. For that, something like a google streetview camera (but for video) and some similar code, (which i think is C++ in this case) would do the trick. Check out the link below.

You would need to develop your own file format, & videos would probably be pretty huge, since you have to store info about every vantage point. But home movie clips would be amazing! - geekmasterProtege

Wow harsh, ...
How can posting a basic netiquette rule be considered harsh? Or was it the link I provided? I do not understand.
My post was not intended to be harsh. Quite the contrary, my intention was to be helpful now and in the future. I provided a link to the thread where the OPs question was already answered, which should be helpful just as I intended. If somebody's feelings were hurt when they were shown a rule of netiquette, sorry about that, but it will happen a lot in many forums when such rules of netiquette are not followed."Jstsqzd" wrote:

I do not see any mention of recording or playback. Quite the contrary to how you interpreted the first post, it clearly states that the OP wants to view the video provided by the two cameras as "3D visions" (implying real-time, which we call AR):"Shoubakka" wrote:

It looks like a pretty clear literal description of AR to me. I would interpret it differently if it in some way specified (or implied) recording and playback, but even in that case there are a lot of threads already discussing many variations of those things, in which case I would have provided an even longer list of links to existing threads. Would somebody call that longer list harsh as well?
Let's assume for a moment that you might be correct that the first post was misleading and actually means what you suggest. In that case here are a few links to relevant existing threads that where such questions are being discussed (and answered):

Hopefully those links aren't considered too "harsh". :o - JstsqzdHonored GuestYeah on further reread I think he is talking about AR. :/ and I noob posted right behind him ://.
