That's just it, you CAN look up and see things with the rift. What I'm seeing from the Rift, is it's trying to stay smaller scale. Larger setups like a 4 point motion capture system would require a lot of room and wires to set up. The Rift keeps things compact and set down to a small area.
If you want to set up a area for that to use with the Rift, by all means go for it and post a video of it. But a setup that big probably isn't going to be integrated into the rift.
