a little disappointed
I just got Oculus Rift yesterday after waiting 5 months :)
But it made me disappointed about quality.
Another the problem is, when I go around using keyboard, I feel dizzy like carsick.
Is there anyway to fix it like make movement smoothly.. .?

When moving with keyboard or mouse, it is NORMAL to feel dizzy. Your inner ears do not match what your eyes see moving in your peripheral vision, so your body thinks it was poisoned.
To prevent that, you need to ONLY turn with your full body, either in a rotating chair, or while standing. You need a cord management solution (such as wireless, or a portable "backpack" computer) for that. There are forum threads and at MTBS3D that are discussing this sort of thing.
Check out the "Hula Hoop ODT" thread at MTBS3D for a low-cost approach, or join the Virtuix Omni kickstarter (or WizDish, if it can become successful) for a device to help you simulate walking. - batigolHonored GuestVirtuix Omni kickstarter need at least 6 months :(
I will make my own one :lol:Check out the "Hula Hoop ODT" thread at MTBS3D for a low-cost approach
I could you give me the link, I searched on google, but a little confuse - PatimPatamProtegeWhat geekmaster said is correct, but i would like to add that from what i heard most people can overcome this with a gradual increase in VR time (the so called "getting your VR legs"), and some people don't have the problem at all to begin with. Of course make sure you have the right IPD settings, that your computer can handle consistent 60fps, etc.
Also using a gamepad like the xbox 360 controller can help a lot because you have analog input and you can gently increase/decrease your avatar speed. Lots of people are enjoying playing HL2 for hours without having to physically turn around.
If still having problems, maybe you can try this:

I don't know what you mean by quality, but i think what you get for the price is nothing short of amazing. If what bothers you is the screen resolution and you have a decent computer i suggest you try forcing supersampling anti-aliasing on the existing demos, it does make a big difference:
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1232 - batigolHonored GuestI just tried Oculus with movement using kinect, it is a little better on "carsick" :D
About quality, I meant that the resolution no so good. I see the door effect even adjust to FullHD resolution

Personally i'm waiting a bit to see if someone finds something better than garbage bags :-) - batigolHonored Guesthaha so funny, I will try to test. Hope I could find that garbage bag in Vietnam
- geekmasterProtegeI just close my eyes while turning in with a controller. Reducing FoV destroys the reason for using a Rift instead of a low-FoV HMD.
That link showing a reduced FoV method to reduce motion sickness makes me think a software mod could be used to reduce the FoV (no peripheral vision) only while turning with a controller, expanding back to full FoV when only turning your real head. I think that would work a lot better than closing my eyes.
And on an ODT like the Omni (with wireless and/or slip-ring cord management), you do not need to use a controller to turn, so no FoV reduction needed while turning.
And yes, you can learn to adapt to this to prevent motion sickness, just like reading a book in a moving vehicle. - EveniosHonored GuestI have to agree that the resolution is pretty bad. I was a bit let down on this too. I was hoping well its just your perception and its not that bad and people are just used to HD displays and......No it is that bad sadly. a lot of detail is lost and distant things do tend to look a tad blurry. I think overall it is good for what it does, but they are right this is Day zero for VR it is not day one. But its encouraging to know that Oculus is already working on that issue in that they have a HD prototype i am sure hopefully is much better. I still like the Rift. I am glad i have it and i will be glad to be a part of testing out what people have created for it. But the resolution i think bar none is the biggest problem with the dev kit rift right now. So for anyone who is considering ordering a rift who is not a game dev. I would wait honestly. Chances are if your a hardcore gamer right now your going to be let down just a bit. But hey i will say it does provide an experence unlike anything else so.....that is something. But yeah. i think the more you use the rift however the more you do apprechate the overall feel of what it does once you kinda get past the "oh my gosh the resolution is bad" you can kinda enjoy it a bit more :-p.
- geekmasterProtege@Evenios: I thought you posted over at MTBS3D that you were banned here. New account? How many threads must you post your complaints to, over and over again? By now, just about anybody interested must have already seen your opinion on this dozens of times. At least I have. Anything new to say on the matter? Or anything useful to provide that can HELP the situation that you bemoan?
You do have a valid opinion, and you are free and welcome to post it. But posting it so many times in so many places is bordering on SPAM. IMHO...
If you Rift disappoints you so much, you should sell it on eBay (at a profit) while it still can fetch a premium price (until all those Rifts held up in customs "flood the market"). Put that money you get from selling it on eBay towards a better HMD, perhaps in the $10,000 price range... - geekmasterProtege
