Anyone know a good place to buy sound effects for a project?
Hello I am curious as to where I can find a good site for purchasing sound effects for a Horror / Mystery game? This my first time going at a project completely solo. I do have simple audio gear but ...
There're also free sounds - looking for 'creative commons'-licensed sound effects should help, Freesound has some, for example (though you may find more via Google). Be aware of the license - if you want to sell the game, you'll want to stick with the basic CC licensed sounds and avoid the ones with non-commercial or 'sharealike' clauses. You should be able to use public domain material, too - be sure to include the wilhelm scream in there somewhere!
