anyone tried Vireio yet?
Last I heard VORPX was not released at all yet for testing but I might be behind the times on that one. That leaves VIREIO which is a very exciting project.
Has anyone actually been able to load up some VIREIO supported games to try out the software? I won't get my SDK for probably about six weeks yet, I'm hoping by then I'll be able to experiement with some racing games via VIREIO!
I can not wait for the day when the wearable VR display replaces my monitors for gaming entirely! Bye bye triple 28" screens running on NVIDIA surround at painfully high resolutions requiring massive graphics processing power, hello VR!
I'm wondering how long I have to wait before I tear out the guts of my simpit and put in my planned build for VR use =) I'm hoping to go from a stationary sim cockpit to a framework motion platform with modular control mountings for flying, driving, and keyboard/mouse/hydra gaming.

- RedijediHonored GuestRichard Burns worked well Only the vanilla not RSRBR mod.
- spyroExpert ProtegeProduced very strange results for me with Dear Esther. The orientation of the headtracker was upside down and the build in configuration tool for the eye parameters is not very precise and difficult to use. It took me quite long to find the documentation online and I head to read 3 pages. At the end I didn't understand it at all. ;)
EDIT: The upside-down issue was because the mouse look was inverted for some reason, i could simply fix it by turning the option off. But the head orientation seems to be wrong (when I turn my head 90° to the right, the games turns the character's head by nearly 180°).

Could you please describe how did you get it working.
I tried:
a) launch Perception /settings: Oculus Rift and Hillcrest Labs
b) Launch RBR /nothing tweaked/ - nsbHonored GuestIsn't Cymatic Bruce doing some of this?
- herbstMHCP MemberTried it yesterday.
First point was: http://vireio.com seems to be outdated - use the version on http://vire.io.
There you can select "Oculus Rift" as output and "Oculus Tracker" as tracker.
You will have to correct the ingame mouse speed, if possible, to match what you feel is correct for your head movement. And you will have to correct the games view point from time to time with the mouse (so that the ingame horizon is aligned with the real-world horizon again).
Other than that, it worked great! Tried "Dear Esther" (had to play with the stereo settings) and Skyrim, the latter one was especially great, albeit a bit hard at times (when trying to fight, the ingame head moves by itself all the time).

Sorry for the super long delay. I had to copy the 3 .dll's of vireo to main RBR folder.
I just received my Dkit I try it again with the updated driver. I will post my results.
I should note I used trackir before and the games free look was a little awkward. When u turn your head the camera does not spin on axis, - KnutsiProtege

Worked "out-of-the-box" for me with both Skyrim and Portal 2 (just remember to run it with administrator rights - this thing needs to hijack your system). Both games launched from Steam.
But note that by "worked" I do not mean it felt pleasant. Portal 2 seemed oddly flat and weird. Skyrim has allot of strange issue with shadows and the skybox (I think at least the first can be fixed), but worse still is lag in the head-tracking. As you'll discover, acurate tracking is very important. Tries it today once more, and Skyrim on vireio is the only game that makes me simsick still (the 3D looks great though). - mm0zctProtegeI haven't tried RBR yet, it's on my todo list, but did you try it with OpenTrack?
http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=17594&start=40#p134794 download link for the latest release (yaw drift correction still isn't in I'm afraid).
You fire it up, select the Rift as Tracker1, nothing as Tracker2 (unless you want to use another tracker eg hydra for positional tracking) then select the output to be Freetrack2.0(this output mode includes TrackIR and some encryption bypassing). Once you're ready to go face the Rift forwards and click start, then launch your TrackIR/Freetrack compatible game and you should get head tracking. I've only extensively tested it with Dirt2 and 3 though so please let me know if it works.
You should set the virieo tracker to "none" as this replaces it. - RedijediHonored Guest

I only had a short time to work on it, but no that did not work for tracking. I followed your directions and was using Alpha 1.8. I will figure more out at a later date.
