Basic questions

hello, I am brand new to the Oculus rift. I just order dk1(I'm 15 and cant afford the new model) and I was wondering if I can use the oculus rift as a hdmi monitor for an xbox 360 w/out using the gyro...

No sorry. I don't believe it can be used as a monitor. I could be wrong but I don't think so.
