- IsoMacintoshExplorerI have never played time crisis but looking at videos it seems to be a simple electric blowback that moves the slide but does not give actual kick. StrikerVR will be way better and give actual kick. (Does not seem to be comparable to a real gun but way better than a electric slide.)
- lmaceleightonHonored GuestIts a nice gun, and I was designing one too(P90), Im sure the posts are still in this forum with the video links. While this would be cool I don't think it going to do that well. It wont be necessary if the technology like the Leap motion takes off. You'll just be able to have a prop in you hand essentially and track it with the Leap, it is something I am working on right now for StargateVR. I have an Airsoft gun with an Arduino Leonardo inside, coupled with an off the shelf IMU(GY-80) that was 12 bucks, all running a AHRS System running at less that 20ms(actually more like 12!). So with tracking IR reflectors I 'should' be able to track it, and still fire without needing more feedback from the Leap. if I am doing this with off the shelf parts, someone will come along an make VR input darn cheap!
Don't get me wrong, I totally dig the controller, and I want one! Until VR really becomes mainstream I don't think this is going to get enough lift to take off. Although i would LOVE to be wrong.
