Camera out front?

Don't know if this has been asked: Are there any plans to put a camera (or two?) out on the front so one could see 'through' the Oculus? I could see holding the middle mouse button or right click to toggle reality, but perhaps a simple voice command would be better. Or bindable so you could use a third party voice program.

In case it isn't obvious why one would want this; text communication in games, reading twitch chat, checking your phone, just generally being able to keep the Oculus on your face and type with both hands.

Keep up the good work, Gents.

  • I would love to see a stereo camera setup for the Rift, maybe a "Sold Separately" sort of thing to keep price down on the basic version. I know that with the Leap Motion controller attached to the Rift you can get a IR Image of the Leap sees, and it is really awesome, a little weird from lack for color, but awesome just the same, so having some cam setup that was meant to be seen through would be great!
  • I was thinking the same thing, also options to record.
Connect a dev board to oculus add a plug in attachment to the front of the oculus as an extra add on device, something like barebones black
